A sweet, delightful, sad story about Lilly and her family during the war. It perfectly captures everyday life at a dramatic time in history - showing how people copped with the constant, difficult upheaval and loss caused by war. It handles bereavement in a way that a child can relate to, honest and innocent, with a touch of the supernatural.
