    Ann Jungman(Author) Mike Philips(Illustrator)
A brand new mini-series by Ann Jungman (author of Vlad the Drac, etc) for 7-9 year olds. Set in Roman Britain, these are funny stories about Clottus and Twitta, their family and their household. Based in fact, these excellent stories are perfect for children raised on Horrible Histories, but also useful for the KS2 classroom. Cartoons from Mike Phillips keep the tone light.

I bought this book when teaching the topic of Romans to my year 3/4 class. It's really good- it's a short story about a young girl called Twitta, who like the title suggests, falls ill with a fever. It features characters who are of different classes like slaves and their masters, which I found interesting to talk about with my children. I also enjoyed one of the other books in the series, 'Clottus and the Ghostly Gladiator'. Both books also feature some pictures which my children enjoyed looking at. I would buy all of the books in the series!
